Role Overview

We are looking for a senior Quality Control leader to head the QC function at a flagship manufacturing plant. This is a strategic plant-level leadership role responsible for setting and enforcing quality standards across all product formats, building robust QC systems, and ensuring full compliance with client, regulatory, and export requirements. The QC Head will also provide quality oversight and technical guidance to another manufacturing facility, acting as the organisation's senior-most quality authority.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end quality control function at the plant people, lab, processes, systems, and compliance.

- Set quality standards and testing protocols across all soap formats noodle-based, syndet, transparent, glycerin, medicated, handmade, baby, hotel, and shampoo bars.

- Oversee raw material qualification and incoming quality approval oils, fatty acids, chemicals, fragrances, actives, and packaging materials.

- Manage in-process quality monitoring and finished goods testing and release across all production lines.

- Lead GMP compliance across the plant and build a quality-first culture on the shop floor.

- Develop and own the QC documentation system, including SOPs, specifications, test methods, COAs, and batch records.

- Drive audit readiness and lead client audits, third-party certifications, BIS inspections, and regulatory visits.

- Investigate quality failures, deviations, and customer complaints; conduct root cause analysis and ensure CAPA closure.

- Lead stability testing and shelf-life validation programs for current and existing products.

- Collaborate with R&D; on new product quality parameters and commercial scale-up activities.

- Provide technical quality guidance to the QC team at the second manufacturing plant and support cross-plant quality alignment.





- Build, mentor, and lead the QC team; manage laboratory infrastructure, calibration, and qualification programs.

- Represent the quality function in leadership reviews and client interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field (M.Sc. preferred).

- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in Quality Control within soap, personal care, FMCG, or chemical manufacturing.

- At least 3–5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial QC role.

- Strong expertise in soap quality testing across multiple formats, including TFM, AD, FFA, moisture, pH, chloride, density, stability, and related parameters.

- Thorough knowledge of BIS standards for soaps, detergents, and personal care products.

- Proven experience in GMP implementation, export quality compliance, and regulatory audits.

- Experience in building and managing QC teams within a manufacturing environment.

- Proficiency in advanced laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer, ICP, and wet chemistry techniques.

- Export market quality experience (Middle East, Africa, or other international markets) is an added advantage.
