As an Assistant Manager - Communications at WWF-India, you will have the opportunity to work closely with all departments within the organization, contributing to the vital role of wildlife and nature conservation.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Writing and editing stories/articles for print collaterals such as newsletters, annual reports, etc.
- Creating engaging content for digital communication channels and platforms including websites, social media, emailers, fundraising campaigns, etc.
- Generating and pitching innovative ideas for fresh content to attract and retain audience interest.
- Conducting thorough scientific research on conservation topics and translating internal field reports into easily understandable content for external audiences.
- Traveling to various field offices of WWF-India across India, conducting on-field interviews when necessary.
- Creating audio and visual content during field trips to enhance storytelling.
- Utilizing your storyboarding experience to effectively combine text, images, audio, and video assets for compelling narratives.
- Collaborating with different departments to ensure the production of strategic, engaging stories that align with organizational objectives.
- Crafting editorial calendars and repurposing stories across different platforms to maximize reach and impact.
- Inviting contributions from external bloggers, experts, or notable guests to enhance the content on the website.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelors Degree in English/Marketing/Creative Writing/Journalism/Communications or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant writing, storytelling, and content creation across print and digital platforms.
- Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of content marketing, SEO, and social media best practices.
- Proficiency in working with AV equipment for capturing visuals, recording videos, and facilitating podcasts.
- Familiarity with MS Office and Canva; knowledge of Adobe Suite would be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of online platforms such as WordPress CMS, e-newsletter services, and social media platforms.
- Willingness to travel to field offices for stories and conduct effective interviews with sensitivity and empathy.
- Creative mindset, ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams within the organization.
