- - Inventory Management: Ensuring balanced stock positions across stores by analyzing demand forecasts and merchandise projections, NSO’s.
- Strategic Allocation: Making decisions to place the right products in the right stores at the right time to maximize sales and minimize markdowns, tracking allocations against actual dispatches.
- Collaboration: Working closely with buying, planning, and sourcing teams to align inventory with financial and sales objectives.
- Data Analysis: Reviewing sales trends, SKU productivity, and stock imbalances to refine allocation strategies, Identifying slow moving & fast moving SKU’s to execute necessary inter-store transfers & Stock consolidation, fill rate.
- Team Leadership: Managing and training a team of merchandise analysts to execute allocation strategies effectively
Job Requirements :
- 4-8 years of experience in merchandise planning or a related field (e.g., buying).
- Strong understanding of assortment planning principles and practices.
- Proficiency in managing large datasets using tools like Excel or specialized software (e.g., Optimizely).
- Proven ability to analyze complex business problems and develop effective solutions.Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, an organized and thorough approach to work
- Good analytical skills
- Strong reporting, high on team spirits and prioritizing skills
- Valuable organizational, self-management and goal setting skills
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and at times conflicting priorities as well as tracking progress on a wide range of tasks
- Relevant experience at a senior level from a value retail background and product knowledge will be added advantage
