Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Digital Content Creator at Jharkhand Updates.

The Digital Content

Creator will research and develop story ideas related to Jharkhand’s news, culture, and social trends, and produce engaging digital content optimized for social media and online platforms. Daily tasks include scripting short-form videos, drafting captions, creating or coordinating basic visual assets, and posting content on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X. The role also involves monitoring trends, analyzing audience engagement metrics, and adjusting content approaches to increase reach and interaction.

The Digital Content

Creator will collaborate with the editorial and social media teams to maintain a consistent brand voice and ensure accurate,



responsible coverage of local issues.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in researching local news, trends, and stories, with the ability to verify information and present it clearly.
- Ability to write concise, engaging copy for social media posts, video scripts, and basic articles.
- Experience creating short-form digital content (e.g., Reels, Shorts, stories) and familiarity with major social platforms.
- Basic understanding of content optimization, including use of hashtags, thumbnails, hooks, and posting schedules.
- Comfort using simple design or video editing tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, or similar) to create or refine content assets.
- Robust sense of Jharkhand’s culture, languages, and current affairs, or willingness to learn quickly and respectfully.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with openness to feedback and collaboration across a distributed team.
- Previous experience in digital media, journalism, social media management, or content creation is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable device for content creation and communication.
