Company Description GALLERY SILVER SCAPES is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to presenting thought-provoking works by emerging and established artists. The team collaborates closely with artists, collectors, and cultural institutions to create meaningful experiences around art. GALLERY SILVER SCAPES also engages the public through talks, guided tours, and educational programs designed to deepen understanding of art history and contemporary practice.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Art Historian role based in South Delhi.

The Art

Historian will research and interpret artworks in the gallery’s program, prepare curatorial notes, and develop historical and critical context for exhibitions. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing exhibition texts, catalog essays, and wall labels; supporting curatorial planning; and contributing to the gallery’s editorial and digital content. The role involves conducting independent research, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant art historical fields, and collaborating with the curatorial and gallery teams on exhibition concepts.

The Art

Historian will also assist in audience engagement through talks, guided tours,



educational sessions, and support for public relations initiatives.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Art History, with the ability to analyze and interpret artworks across periods, movements, and media.
- Experience or academic background in Cultural Management, including familiarity with galleries, museums, or cultural institutions.
- Demonstrated engagement with Art practice and visual culture, with sensitivity to contemporary artistic trends and diverse perspectives.
- Ability and interest in Teaching, including leading tours, workshops, lectures, or educational programs for diverse audiences.
- Public Relations skills, including clear communication, audience engagement, and collaboration on events and outreach activities.
- Excellent research, writing, and editorial skills, with attention to detail and clarity for both specialist and general audiences.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Art History or a closely related field preferred; relevant bachelor’s degree with strong experience considered.
- Ability to work on-site full time in South Delhi, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively within a small team environment.
- Prior experience in a gallery, museum, academic, or cultural setting is an advantage.
