Job Description – Production Manager

Position: Production Manager
Department: Production
Location: Saoner (Malegaon)
Experience Required: Minimum 8 Years
Salary Range: Up to ₹8 LPA (Based on experience & competency)
Reporting To: Operations Manager

1. Job Summary

The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production operations. The role involves achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, ensuring safety compliance, managing manpower, and optimising resources.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per business requirements.
- Monitor batch processing and ensure adherence to SOPs.
- Coordinate with PPC and dispatch teams for smooth workflow.

B. Process & Quality Control

- Ensure compliance with approved process parameters.
- Maintain consistent product quality as per specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC department for in-process checks.
- Implement corrective actions for deviations.

C. Manpower Management

- Supervise production supervisors, operators, and helpers.
- Plan shift allocations and manpower utilization.
- Conduct training for operators on SOPs and safety.
- Monitor attendance and discipline in production department.

D. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict compliance with Factory Act and safety norms.
- Maintain safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.




- Implement safe work practices and emergency procedures.
- Participate in internal and external audits.

E. Cost & Resource Optimization

- Minimize production losses and wastage.
- Monitor raw material consumption and yield improvement.
- Ensure optimal utilization of utilities and equipment.
- Control overtime and production costs.

F. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain production reports, log sheets, and batch records.
- Prepare daily MIS reports for management review.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes.

3. Qualification & Skills

Education:

- B.Sc / M.Sc (Chemistry) or B.E. / B.Tech (Chemical Engineering)

Experience:

- Minimum 8 years in manufacturing / chemical production
- At least 3 years in supervisory / managerial role

Technical Skills:

- Knowledge of batch manufacturing process
- Understanding of reactors, process equipment & utilities
- Knowledge of GMP & safety practices preferred
- Basic computer skills (Excel, MIS reporting)

Soft Skills:

- Strong leadership & team handling ability
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Valuable communication & coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure

- Yield improvement %
- Wastage reduction %
- Safety incident record
- Manpower productivity
- On-time batch completion
