Company Description Hippocampus Learning Centres is a Bengaluru-based education organization committed to transforming the lives of underserved communities through high-quality schooling. It primarily operates in rural India, running a network of kindergartens and private K–10 schools across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, serving caregivers who are largely farmers and laborers. The current network has 20 schools with 9 of them being CBSE schools. 4 schools are located in Bangalore.

Role Description The Academic Lead – Math (Grade 6 and above) is a full time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for designing and refining math curricula and learning resources for middle and high school learners, ensuring alignment with academic standards and the organization’s holistic education philosophy. The Academic Lead will conduct regular classroom observations, support teachers with lesson planning, and provide ongoing academic coaching and training in math pedagogy. The role includes analyzing student performance data, identifying learning gaps, and implementing strategies to improve outcomes across schools. The Academic Lead will also collaborate with school leaders and the central academic team to drive innovation in math teaching, support program scale-up,



and maintain consistent academic quality.

Qualifications
Strong expertise in Mathematics for Grade 6 and above, with the ability to design curriculum, assessments, and teaching resources.
Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, teacher mentoring, and classroom observation to improve instructional quality.
Skill in using student performance data and assessment results to identify learning gaps and drive targeted interventions.
Ability to develop engaging, concept-driven math lessons that promote problem solving, critical thinking, and real-life application.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, school leaders, and cross-functional teams.
Comfort working in rural or semi-urban school environments and commitment to equity in education for underserved communities.
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; formal teacher training or B.Ed. is an advantage.
Prior experience in K–12 education, in middle or high school math, and familiarity with CBSE board curricula.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple schools and projects simultaneously.
