The Software Engineer SAP BW is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data solutions that enable business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

The role focuses on SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, and SAP Business

Data Cloud, with a strong emphasis on logistics data domains. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, the incumbent will deliver scalable data models, reporting solutions, and integration capabilities while ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and

governance.

Experience

- 6 - 10 years of experience in SAP BW/4HANA development and data engineering.
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere and enterprise data modelling.
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA logistics modules in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modelling & Integration

- Design, develop, and optimize data models in SAP BW/4HANA for logistics datasets, including Sales & Distribution (SD), Transportation Management (TM), and Warehouse Management (WM/EWM).
- Develop and maintain Composite Providers, ADSOs, BW Queries, and CDS-based data models.
- Design and implement ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading from SAP S/4HANA logistics modules, CDS Views, and external data sources.
- Build scalable and reusable semantic models using SAP Datasphere.
- Support data integration across SAP Business Data Cloud and enterprise reporting platforms.

Reporting & Analytics

- Design and develop BW Queries to support enterprise reporting requirements.
- Integrate SAP BW solutions with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), BEx, and Analysis for Office (AFO).
- Develop logistics performance dashboards and analytical solutions.




- Ensure reporting solutions meet business performance, scalability, and usability requirements.

Testing & Change Management

- Participate in Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Support data migration activities across SAP BW/4HANA environments.
- Manage and implement change requests in accordance with project governance.
- Review SQL logic within AMDP-based implementations to ensure performance and quality.

Technical Support & Performance Optimization

- Monitor data loads and troubleshoot ETL failures and data integration issues.
- Resolve connectivity issues between SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP Business

Data Cloud, and logistics systems.

- Perform performance tuning of BW objects, SQL logic, and HANA-based data models.
- Support production environments and ensure timely resolution of incidents.

Process Analysis & Solution Design

- Facilitate process workshops to understand logistics business requirements.
- Recommend SAP standard solutions and best practices during solution design.
- Prepare Technical Specification Documents (TSI) based on approved Functional Specifications (FSI).
- Assess changes across SAP S/4HANA and non-SAP transactional systems and evaluate downstream impacts on reporting and analytics applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the solution lifecycle.

Must Have Skills

- Strong experience with SAP BW/4HANA development.




- Hands-on experience in data modelling using Composite Providers, ADSOs, BW Queries, and CDS-based models.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL processes.
- Solid knowledge of SAP Datasphere for semantic modelling and data integration.
- Experience with SAP Business Data Cloud.
- Proficiency in HANA SQLScript (AMDP) and ABAP enhancements.
- Experience reviewing and optimizing SQL logic and application performance.
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA logistics modules including SD, TM, WM/EWM.
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), BEx, and Analysis for Office (AFO).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile or enterprise project environments.

- Experience with procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution processes.
- Experience facilitating business workshops and Fit-to-Standard sessions.
