Consultant Ophthalmologist (Phaco Surgeon)

Qualification

• MS Ophthalmology

• DNB Ophthalmology

• DO (Diploma in Ophthalmology)

Registration

• Valid NMC / State Medical Council Registration

Experience

• Experienced Phaco Surgeons preferred

• Candidates with independent Cataract Surgery (Phaco) experience will be given preference

---

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and OPD consultations

• Perform Phacoemulsification (Phaco) Cataract Surgeries independently

• Diagnose and manage Cataract, Glaucoma, Refractive Errors, and other ophthalmic disorders

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care

• Counsel patients regarding surgical procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up care

• Coordinate with Optometrists, OT staff, and hospital management

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and surgical records





• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines

Skills Required

• Expertise in Phaco Cataract Surgery

• Robust clinical and surgical skills in Comprehensive Ophthalmology

• Excellent patient counselling and communication skills

• Professional, ethical, and patient-centric approach

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
