Job vacancy for School Counselor Job Location Bandra Mumbai Reports to Counselling Head Job description About Aseema Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from marginalised communities with high quality value-based education enabling the development of their limitless potential We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai MCGM and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri Aseema reaches out to 4 400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities Job Responsibilities To take guidance from the Head Consultant Child Psychotherapist on all matters related to the children To identify children in need of counseling To conduct individual and group counseling sessions for children as required To maintain systematic records of all counseling sessions and update the case study files at the end of each term To provide monthly updates to the teachers on the progress of children in Counseling To conduct screening for external referrals and or administer psychometric tests for children as required To make external referrals for therapy as required and to coordinate with the Social Workers to ensure children attend To conduct developmental assessment with pre primary children To report on the assessment findings To accompany children to specialists as and when required in consultation with the Head To use psychometric tools for the purpose of career guidance and to hold follow up meetings with children parents staff to discuss results To ensure that teachers complete filling up of LD checklist for all children To organize screening for learning disabilities and shortlist children showing max red flags To administer informal assessment on the shortlisted children and note down observations To decide on the children who need a formal LD assessment To maintain a database of the process To undertake LD testing and Sion hospital duties in coordination with the CWC To accompany children for testing wherever Psychiatric Evaluation is required Required Experience Skills and Qualifications Masters in Psychology Counselling Psychology preferred Minimum 2 years of Counseling experience is required Valuable communication skills Immediate joiners preferred Interested candidates residing in Mumbai can send their updated resume mentioning the position applied for with current and expected salary to hr attherateaseema org Job Types Full-time Permanent Benefits Food provided Health insurance Provident Fund Application Question s Please mention your notice period Please provide your residence location Education Bachelor s Required Experience Counselling 2 years Required Language English Required Work Location In person
