Role Description The Assistant Professor of Garment Construction will engage in full-time, on-site teaching and academic responsibilities at the Khanna campus. The role includes delivering lectures and practical sessions in garment construction, supervising pattern-making and sewing labs, and guiding students in design execution and quality standards. The faculty member will prepare course materials, develop assessments, evaluate student performance, and provide academic mentoring. Additional responsibilities include participating in curriculum development, contributing to academic research or industry projects,
and supporting departmental activities such as workshops, exhibitions, and student events. Collaboration with colleagues and industry partners to enhance academic quality and employability outcomes is also expected. Qualificationsn n Strong expertise in garment construction, pattern making, sewing techniques, and apparel production processes.
n Proficiency in fashion illustration, technical drawing, and use of garment-related tools and equipment in studio or lab settings.
n Ability to design and deliver structured lesson plans, evaluate student work, and apply outcome-based education principles.
n Effective classroom management, mentoring skills, and the ability to work with a diverse student body.
n Master's degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Textile or Apparel Science, or a closely related discipline (PhD preferred).
n Prior teaching or academic experience at the higher education level, or substantial industry experience in garment manufacturing or fashion.
n Robust communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
n Interest in research, industry collaboration, and continual professional development in garment construction and fashion education.
