Job Description: A Bhatta Supervisor (Kiln Supervisor) in a refractory ceramic products manufacturing plant is responsible for overseeing the entire firing process, managing kiln operations, and ensuring the final quality of high-temperature resistant bricks, castables, or ceramic materials. This role requires technical knowledge of thermal processing, kiln management (tunnel/shuttle kilns), and team leadership. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Key Responsibilities

- Kiln Operations Management: Supervise the loading, unloading, setting, and firing processes of kiln cars. [1, 2]
- Firing Cycle Control: Monitor and control temperature, pressure, fuel consumption (coal, gas, oil), and oxygen levels during the firing process to ensure proper sintering. [1, 2]
- Production & Quality Assurance: Ensure production targets are met and that fired products (refractory bricks) meet specifications for density, size, and thermal resistance, reducing kiln rejects and refiring needs. [1, 2, 3]
- Workforce Management: Manage kiln shift workers, operators, and helpers, including training and ensuring disciplined operations. [1, 2, 3]
- Kiln Maintenance: Coordinate routine maintenance, such as checking burner tubes, fans,



refractory lining repairs, and kiln car maintenance, to minimize downtime. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures (PPE usage) and environmental regulations regarding emissions. [1, 2]
- Reporting: Prepare daily reports on production output, fuel consumption, and any operational issues. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: Previous experience in refractory manufacturing, ceramics, or industrial furnace/kiln operations (usually 3–7+ years).
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of refractories (fire bricks, castables), ceramic firing curves, sintering, and kiln machinery.
- Leadership: Robust ability to lead and coordinate large worker teams.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to identify kiln issues or raw material deviations and take corrective actions.
- Education: Generally requires a Diploma in Ceramic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
