Role Description This is contract role for a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Consultant. The consultant will assess existing business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) capabilities, identify gaps, and develop robust strategies and plans aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting risk and impact assessments, mapping critical processes and dependencies, and designing recovery procedures and communication protocols. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders across functions, facilitating training and awareness sessions, and coordinating tabletop exercises and simulations to validate and improve BC/DR readiness. The consultant will document policies and procedures, provide recommendations for technology and process improvements, and prepare transparent reports and presentations for leadership.

Qualifications
Strong expertise in business continuity planning, disaster recovery strategy, risk assessment, and business impact analysis.
Experience designing and implementing BC/DR frameworks, incident response procedures, and crisis communication plans.




Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ITIL, regulatory compliance frameworks for BC/DR).
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, and translate complex technical and operational risks into clear, actionable plans.
Proficiency in documenting policies, procedures, and reports; strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive and operational audiences.
Experience conducting training, workshops, and simulation exercises to build organizational resilience and preparedness.
Background in IT infrastructure, cloud settings, or cybersecurity as it relates to continuity and recovery is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, risk management, or a related field; skilled certifications in BC/DR or risk management (such as CBCP, MBCI, or equivalent) are an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple engagements, and meet deadlines for deliverables.
