Role Description The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a full time, in office role based in Abroad, responsible for leading the overall HR strategy and operations for Esse India. This role oversees the design and implementation of HR policies, ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and fosters a fair and inclusive workplace culture. The CHRO will manage talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention initiatives, and partner with leadership to develop workforce planning and succession strategies.

Daily responsibilities include overseeing performance management processes, addressing employee relations issues, guiding managers on HR best practices, and driving employee engagement and development programs. The role also involves monitoring HR metrics, recommending improvements to organizational structure and practices, and representing HR in executive decision-making.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) management and strategic HR leadership.

Ability to design, implement,



and update HR Policies that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

Proven experience in managing Employee Relations, resolving conflicts, and promoting an inclusive, respectful work workplace.

Expertise in Talent Management, including recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of employees.

Experience with Performance Management frameworks, including goal setting, feedback, and appraisal systems.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably within professional services or consulting sectors.

Knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR compliance requirements;

experience with multi-location operations is an advantage.

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and drive change initiatives.
