Position: Legal Taxation Officer - Legal Compliance

Location: Hyderabad

Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Taxation Officer to lead the organisation's direct and indirect taxation, statutory compliance, and legal documentation. The ideal candidate will ensure full regulatory compliance, manage tax-related matters, support legal proceedings, and provide guidance on compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end GST compliance, including return filing, reconciliations, refunds, assessments, and audits.
Handle Income Tax compliance, including advance tax, TDS, return filing, and assessment proceedings.
Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and other legal documents.
Ensure timely statutory filings and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities.
Monitor changes in taxation and corporate laws and advise management on their business impact.
Handle tax notices, assessments, audits, and litigation in coordination with external legal counsel.
Maintain accurate compliance records and ensure adherence to statutory deadlines.
Support internal stakeholders on legal and tax-related matters.





Candidate Profile
10+ years of experience in Direct Indirect Taxation and Legal Compliance.
Qualified qualification such as CA, CS, LLB, or equivalent practical experience in taxation and legal compliance.
Solid knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS, corporate laws, and statutory regulations.
Proven experience in handling assessments, audits, notices, and litigation.
Experience in manufacturing, trading, or export-oriented organisations is preferred.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing compliance responsibilities.
Ability to work effectively with senior management, auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
