We are looking for an Individual Tax Preparer (Associate) to join our US Tax team. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in US Individual Tax (Form 1040) who are looking to build expertise in international taxation and IRS compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare US Individual Tax Returns (Forms 1040 & 1040NR) and State Tax Returns.
Review client documents including W-2s, 1099s, K-1s and other supporting tax documents.
Gather, validate and reconcile client financial information.
Communicate with clients regarding missing information and tax-related queries.
Perform tax calculations, resolve diagnostics and support tax review processes.
Assist with international information reporting including FBAR, FATCA (Form 8938) and related compliance.
Stay updated on IRS regulations and US tax law changes.
Collaborate with reviewers and managers to ensure timely and accurate tax return preparation.
Required Skills & Experience
1–3 years of hands-on experience in US Individual Tax Preparation.
Robust experience preparing Form 1040 and 1040NR .
Experience preparing State Tax Returns .
Working knowledge of:
W-2
1099 (INT, DIV, B, NEC)
Schedule A
Schedule C
Schedule E (Rental Income)
Capital Gains & Losses
Positive understanding of IRS tax rules and regulations.
Robust communication and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance.
EA (Enrolled Agent) certified or pursuing EA is highly preferred.
CPA (US) pursuing/certified is an added advantage.
