Role Description The Medical Counsellor (Healthcare) at Cara Clinic is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The person in this role will counsel patients on hair restoration and aesthetic treatment options, explain procedures, expected outcomes, risks, and pre- and post-care instructions in clear, empathetic language.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting initial consultations, supporting doctors in treatment planning, answering patient queries, and coordinating follow-up appointments. The Medical Counsellor will maintain accurate patient records, uphold confidentiality,
and ensure that every interaction reflects the clinic's safety, ethics, and patient-first values.
This role also involves collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to optimize the overall patient experience.
Qualifications
- Strong patient counselling and communication skills, including the ability to explain medical and aesthetic procedures in simple, reassuring terms.
- Knowledge of basic dermatology, hair restoration, and aesthetic treatments, with the ability to understand and relay treatment plans accurately.
- Empathy, active listening, and relationship-building skills to support patients through decision-making and post-treatment care.
- Organizational and coordination skills for managing appointments, maintaining records, and supporting clinic workflows.
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and adherence to hygiene and safety protocols in a clinical setting.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced on-site environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively with medical and administrative teams.
- Relevant education in healthcare, psychology, counseling, nursing, or a related field; prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and local languages (such as Hindi or Marathi) to communicate with a diverse patient base.
