Role & responsibilities - We are looking for someone to lead financial and accounting department effectively. The job involves managing a team of 2-3 people and coordinating with an outside financial consultant. Your job will involve advising owners from time to time on financial matters and protecting the company's best interest at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Export Finance & Incentives

- Process GST refunds for zero-rated export supplies (LUT route).
- Track export incentives such as RoDTEP, RoSCTL, or Duty Drawbacks.
- Handle FEMA compliance including BRC (Bank Realisation Certificate) monitoring.
- Oversee EEFC accounts and manage foreign exchange risk/hedging. [4]

Oversee Daily Accounting Operations

- Supervise accounting teams to maintain pristine financial records.
- Review general ledgers to ensure multi-currency transaction accuracy.
- Approve monthly payouts for domestic vendors and international logistics.
- Accelerate month-end closing and prepare financial statements.

Internal Audit & Risk

- Design audit plans tailored to export workflows and documentation.
- Conduct regular audits on shipping bills, invoices, and customs records.
- Draft audit reports for management with clear corrective actions.

Statutory Compliance

- File GST returns (GSTR-1, 3B, 9, 9C) for export entities.
- Oversee TDS deductions and file quarterly compliance returns.
- Manage PF and ESI monthly calculations and portal submissions.
- Coordinate income tax filings, advance tax, and transfer pricing reports. [5, 6]
- - Examine and verify the books of accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting principles.
- Review and scrutinize accounting entries posted in the accounting software and ensure proper booking of transactions.
- Verify that all financial entries are recorded under the correct ledger heads and identify the correct nature of expenses.
- Check purchase bills, supporting documents, vouchers, invoices, and related records before accounting and payment processing.




- Conduct trial balance verification and identify errors, omissions, or mismatches requiring rectification.
- Review journal entries, adjustment entries, and rectification entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Verify taxation-related accounting entries, including GST, TDS, and other statutory transactions.
- Ensure proper booking of TDS entries and monitor timely deduction, deposit, reconciliation, and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Income Tax Return (ITR) working papers and related documentation.
- Review GST transactions and maintain a basic level of GST compliance, including reconciliation of purchase and expense records.
- Support the preparation and review of Tax Audit schedules and financial information required for statutory audits.
- Identify discrepancies, accounting irregularities, duplicate entries, incorrect postings, or unsupported transactions and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Accounts, Purchase, and Finance teams to resolve audit observations and improve internal controls.
- Prepare audit reports highlighting findings, financial risks, process gaps, and recommendations for management.
- Maintain complete audit documentation and ensure confidentiality of financial information.

Preferred candidate profile

B. Com / M. Com Candidates with CA Inter or articleship experience will be preferred.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of books of accounts and accounting processes.
- Accounting entry verification and ledger scrutiny.
- Trial Balance analysis and rectification.
- Purchase bill verification and voucher checking.
- Expense classification and ledger scrutiny.
- Knowledge of TDS accounting and compliance.
- Solid knowledge of GST provisions and accounting.
- Understanding of Income Tax Return (ITR) preparation and supporting documentation.
- Knowledge of Tax Audit documentation and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime or similar accounting software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Analytical thinking with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
