- Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Assess and stabilize medical emergencies until referral or transport.
- Administer medications, injections, dressings, IV fluids (where authorized), and basic nursing procedures.
- Assist the Occupational Health Physician during consultations and medical examinations.
Occupational Health Services
- Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and exit medical examinations.
- Monitor employees exposed to occupational hazards.
- Maintain employee medical surveillance records.
- Support health monitoring programs for noise, dust, chemicals, ergonomics, and other occupational risks.
Medical Documentation
- Maintain confidential employee medical records.
- Record treatment provided, injuries, illnesses, and referrals.
- Prepare OHC reports, injury statistics, and health surveillance data.
- Maintain documentation required under applicable statutory requirements.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies across the facility.
- Coordinate ambulance services and referrals to hospitals.
- Participate in mock drills for fire, chemical spills, and other emergencies.
- Ensure emergency medical equipment is functional and readily available.
Health Promotion
- Conduct employee health awareness sessions.
- Organize wellness initiatives with FMO including:
- Nutrition awareness
- Lifestyle disease prevention
- Mental health awareness
- Tobacco and alcohol cessation
- Stress management
- Womens health programs
- Support vaccination and immunization drives.
Infection Prevention
- Implement infection prevention and control practices.
- Monitor communicable diseases and outbreaks.
- Promote hygiene and sanitation within the workplace.
- OHC Management
- Maintain OHC cleanliness and readiness.
- Monitor stock of medicines and consumables.
- Manage first aid boxes across the plant.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of medical equipment.
EHS Support
- Work closely with the Setting, Health & Safety (EHS) team.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- Recommend preventive measures to reduce occupational injuries.
- Support workplace risk assessments from a health perspective.
Compliance
- Support compliance with:
- Factories Act and applicable State Factory Rules
- Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code (where applicable)
- Company occupational health policies
- Maintain records for statutory inspections
- EMS & OHSAS audits preparation.
- RC Responsible Care Audit Documentation
Experience
- 1–5 years of nursing experience.
- Experience in an industrial OHC, manufacturing plant, or corporate occupational health setting is preferred.
- Freshers may be considered depending on organizational requirements.
