Urgent opening for a Legal Officer Job description AnIndustryAssociation of Manufacturing Industries of North East India is looking for a Legal Officer to join its existing team of Lawyers under the Legal department Roles and Responsibilities 1 Take stock of all current legal cases and litigations related to Insurance Arbitration Tax Civil Criminal NCLT State Electricity Regulatory Commissions APTEL High Courts Supreme Courts etc 2 Get appraised with a thorough status update on all current pending legal cases and matters 3 Liaison with Advocates on record or Senior counsels for all current pending cases for a speedy conclusion 4 Preparation Vettingof petitions for cases to be filed 5 Vet and evaluate all petitions that are already filed and look for shortcomings 6 Prepare for current cases as per their date of listings well in advance 7 Coordinate with Police stations file if required for the pursuit of justice 8 Appear along with Senior counsel during case hearings and prepare reports for the senior management 9 Draft Notices for matters related to APTEL SERC High Court Arbitration Demand Notices etc 10 Study Maintain and Improve the Master CaseTracker for tracking all current cases with due dates and when the matters would be listed 11 Follow up with Advocates in records for progress and conclusion of cases through calls and visits 12 Appear for matters as and when required 13 Visit local Police Stations for Filing FIRs Follow Up for filed FIRs etc Compulsory Skills 1 Prior experience in visiting to Police Station for filing FIRs follow up of cases Registration of cases and Conclusion of FIRs 2 Fluent Verbal Communication 3 Superior Writing Skills in English 4 Excellent Comprehension Skills where the candidate needs to have the ability to understand correctly the crux of matters 5 Prior experience of searching relevant cases on databases such as MANUPATRA for Online Legal Research 6 Decent typing skills MS Office Internet and computer skills Educational Qualification BA LLB BBA LLB LLM from a reputed Law School Experience Required Minimum 5 Years of experience in the Law Field Perks and Advantages Perks and benefits such as Paid Leaves Conveyance Bonus etc as per Company Policy Benefits Salary Rs 45 000 - Rs 60 000 - month Negotiable Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay 45 000 00 - 60 000 00 per month Benefits Paid time off Application Question s How many years of litigation experience do you have Civil Criminal Arbitration High Court NCLT Have you independently visited Police Stations for filing and following up on FIRs Are you proficient in drafting petitions notices and doing legal research on MANUPATRA Work Location In person
