Role Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance Manager who will own end-to-end product quality — from fabric inward to final dispatch. You will build and enforce quality systems, lead a team of checkers and QC staff, reduce rejection and rework, and ensure every shipment meets buyer AQL standards and testing requirements. This is a floor-level leadership role, not a desk role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Incoming Material Quality
- Implement 4-point system fabric inspection for all inward fabric lots (GSM, dia, shade, shrinkage, defects)
- Approve/reject fabric, trims, and accessories against approved standards and buyer requirements
- Conduct and record shrinkage, spirality, and colour fastness checks before cutting approval
2. In-Process Quality (Cutting to Finishing)
- Establish inline checkpoints across cutting, stitching (Powertable, Singer, Kaja Button), checking, and ironing stages
- Run pre-production meetings (PP meetings) and approve pilot/size-set samples before bulk
- Conduct hourly inline audits, traffic-light monitoring, and DHU (Defects per Hundred Units) tracking per line
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action for repeat defects with production supervisors and contractors
3. Final Inspection & Export Compliance
- Conduct pre-final and final inspections to AQL 1.5 (or buyer-specified AQL) for all export shipments
- Prepare inspection reports, measurement charts, and packing audits for buyer/third-party inspections (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, QIMA)
- Ensure labelling, packing, and carton compliance for export and marketplace (Amazon/Flipkart) requirements
- Support Sedex SMETA and buyer audit readiness on quality documentation and factory standards
4. Testing & Fabric Performance
- Coordinate lab testing (internal and NABL/buyer-nominated labs) for shrinkage, GSM, colour fastness, pilling
- Work with the fabric processing team to achieve export-grade shrink-free performance (<3–5% residual shrinkage)
- Maintain approved standards, shade bands, and trim cards for every style
5. Systems, Team & Reporting
- Build and document QC SOPs, checklists, and defect libraries for all departments
- Train, allocate, and supervise the checking team; set daily checking targets and accountability
- Publish daily/weekly quality MIS: DHU%, rejection%, rework%, inspection pass rate, customer returns
- Analyse marketplace customer returns and translate findings into factory-level corrective actions
