Roles and Responsibilities:
- (MRR) Medical Record Review and (ROI) Release of Information, for medical records in compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policies
- Review and validate authorization forms to ensure legal compliance
- Retrieve medical records from EMR/EHR systems, paper charts, and legacy systems
- Ensure accurate disclosure of PHI based on request type (patient, attorney, insurance, audit, government)
- Apply appropriate redactions where required
- Maintain confidentiality and data security at all times
- Meet productivity, turnaround time (TAT), and quality benchmarks
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, healthcare providers, attorneys, and payers
- Document actions and maintain audit trails for compliance purposes
- Support quality audits and resolve errors or discrepancies promptly.
