A Fabrication Plant Helper supports production by assisting welders and machine operators, moving materials, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Key duties include lifting/positioning parts, operating basic machinery, managing tools, conducting quality checks, and following safety protocols. This role typically requires physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items.

Key Responsibilities

- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials (metal, tools, dies) between work stations using hand trucks, dollies, or cranes.

- Fabrication Support: Position, lift, and align workpieces for welding and assembly.

- Machinery Operation: Operate or feed materials into production machinery (rollers, presses, cutters).

- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace by cleaning machinery, sweeping floors, and disposing of waste.

- Quality/Inventory:



Mark parts for identification and assist in quality checks.

Requirements

- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.

- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of, and commitment to, safety protocols.

- Experience: Often entry-level, but experience in manufacturing is a plus.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Common Qualifications

- Basic understanding of fabrication tools and materials.

- Ability to read blueprints or follow instructions

- Ability to work in a team-based workplace.
