Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and creative Early Years Teacher who believes in inquiry-based learning and understands the developmental needs of young children. The ideal candidate will create engaging, play-based learning experiences that inspire curiosity, foster independence, and support children's holistic development in alignment with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) philosophy.

The teacher will cultivate a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where every child is encouraged to explore, question, create, and grow as an active learner.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning

- Plan, deliver, and assess developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework.
- Facilitate inquiry-based and play-based learning that promotes exploration and critical thinking.
- Design engaging learning centres that encourage curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of every child.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
- Promote children's agency by encouraging voice, choice, and ownership of learning.
- Integrate literacy, numeracy, science, arts, technology, and outdoor learning into everyday experiences.
- Encourage positive behaviour through respectful and restorative classroom practices.

Curriculum & Assessment

- Collaborate in planning IB Units of Inquiry.




- Develop learning engagements that connect with children's interests and real-life experiences.
- Document children's learning through observations, portfolios, photographs, and formative assessments.
- Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
- Prepare meaningful reports and communicate progress with families.

Classroom Environment

- Create a warm, inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
- Organise classrooms to promote exploration and independent learning.
- Maintain attractive and purposeful learning displays.
- Ensure classroom resources are organised and well maintained.

Parent Partnership

- Build positive relationships with parents through regular communication.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and learning celebrations.
- Share children's learning journey through portfolios and documentation.
- Partner with families to support children's overall development.

Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with grade-level teams, specialist teachers, learning support staff, and school leadership.
- Participate actively in curriculum planning and professional learning communities.
- Contribute to school events, exhibitions, celebrations, and community initiatives.

Professional Responsibilities

- Participate in continuous professional development.
- Stay updated with IB philosophy, inquiry pedagogy, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest professional standards.
- Comply with all school policies,



safeguarding requirements, and child protection procedures.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or recognised teaching qualification.
- IB PYP training or certification is preferred.
- Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or other progressive early years experience will be an added advantage.

Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in Early Years.
- Experience in an IB PYP school is preferred.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and play-based learning.
- Experience documenting student learning and formative assessment practices.
