Position Overview:

We are looking for a technically strong Design Engineer Marine/Production Design with hands-on experience in the shipbuilding industry. The role will be responsible for preparation, review and coordination of ship design and production engineering deliverables, particularly Paint Schemes, Tank Testing Plans, Load Line Plans and other marine/production drawings required for new ship construction.

The candidate will work closely with Naval Architecture, Hull, Piping, Outfitting, Production, Quality, Classification Society and Project teams to ensure design deliverables comply with approved drawings, ship specifications, class rules and shipyard construction requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review Paint Schemes / Painting & Coating Plans for hull, tanks, decks, machinery spaces and other ship areas.
- Develop Tank Testing Plans and Procedures for various ship tanks and compartments.
- Prepare and review Load Line Plans, including load line marks, draft marks and associated details.
- Ensure design deliverables comply with applicable Class, Statutory and Flag requirements.
- Coordinate with Naval Architecture, Hull, Structural, Piping, Outfitting and Production Engineering teams.
- Review ship specifications, approved drawings, class comments and engineering inputs before preparation of production drawings.
- Prepare and update drawings based on design changes, engineering revisions and production requirements.
- Coordinate with Classification Societies such as IRS, DNV, ABS, BV, LR or equivalent as applicable.
- Support resolution of technical queries raised by Production,



Quality, Inspection and Ship Construction teams.
- Ensure drawings are practical for fabrication, erection, inspection, testing and commissioning.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate comments from internal stakeholders, owners, consultants and classification societies.
- Maintain drawing registers, revisions and engineering documentation in accordance with project procedures.
- Support preparation of as-built drawings and final documentation.
- Coordinate with the Project/Planning team to ensure engineering deliverables are completed as per project schedules.
- Provide technical support during ship construction, inspection and testing activities.

Software Skills: Candidates should have hands-on experience with relevant marine/shipbuilding design software such as:

- AutoCAD
- AVEVA Marine / AVEVA E3D
- Tribon
- Cadmatic
- Other relevant shipbuilding CAD/design platforms

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding or related discipline.
- Relevant experience in shipbuilding / ship construction / marine design is preferred.
