A capital markets and broking firm investing in next-generation low-latency trading infrastructure is hiring a CTO / Head of Engineering.

Key responsibilities

- Own end-to-end engineering delivery across backend and frontend systems
- Lead, mentor and scale multiple engineering teams
- Design highly scalable, fault-tolerant microservices architectures with low-latency real-time capabilities
- Enforce secure-by-design principles across authentication and authorisation, data protection, OWASP compliance and API security
- Take full ownership during production outages: rapid root cause analysis, immediate resolution and long-term architectural fixes
- Drive an AI-first engineering culture across copilots, code assistants and workflow automation




- Architect Kafka-based event streaming and asynchronous communication patterns for real-time processing
- Oversee CI/CD, Docker and observability across Prometheus, Grafana and ELK

Core tech stack: Core Java with Spring Boot (preferred), microservices, PostgreSQL or MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Docker, CI/CD, JWT and OAuth2, Prometheus, Grafana and ELK. Bonus: Kubernetes, distributed tracing and HFT system design. Candidate profile: a hands-on builder, debugger and decision-maker rather than a passive manager, with a background in trading, fintech or brokerage systems and a proven track record managing production-critical environments.
