Job Purpose
The Chief Specialist, Technical Records and Publications is responsible for managing the organization's technical records and technical publications functions to ensure regulatory compliance, data integrity, and operational efficiency. This role oversees the control, maintenance, revision, distribution, and archival of technical documentation while ensuring that aircraft maintenance records and engineering publications remain accurate, current, and compliant with applicable aviation regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Technical Records and Technical Publications teams.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and quality standards for technical records and publications management.
- Ensure all technical records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Oversee the receipt, validation, indexing, storage, retrieval, and archival of aircraft maintenance and engineering records.
- Manage the revision, distribution, and control of technical manuals, maintenance documentation, engineering orders, service bulletins, and other controlled publications.
- Ensure timely incorporation of revisions from aircraft manufacturers, regulatory authorities, and internal engineering departments.
- Monitor compliance with applicable aviation regulations, including requirements established by national aviation authorities and aircraft manufacturers.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Planning, Continuing Airworthiness Management, and Flight Operations to ensure documentation accuracy.
- Support internal and external regulatory audits by preparing records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Manage electronic document management systems (EDMS) and technical records databases.
- Ensure proper configuration control of technical documents and maintenance records.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for document control, records accuracy, and publication turnaround times.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital transformation of records and publication systems.
- Review and approve departmental procedures and work instructions.
- Train, mentor, and develop technical records and publications personnel.
- Manage vendor relationships related to technical documentation systems and publication services.
- Prepare management reports on departmental performance, compliance status, and operational metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in document control, quality management, records management, or aviation maintenance is an advantage.
- Additional training in aviation regulations and continuing airworthiness is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in aviation technical records, technical publications, engineering support, or continuing airworthiness.
- At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience with aircraft maintenance information systems and electronic technical publications.
- Experience supporting aviation regulatory audits and compliance activities.

Working Conditions

Pay: ₹450,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per month
