Job Description: An accountant for a steel company manages the financial operations, cost control, and statutory compliance specific to manufacturing and trading. - Cost Accounting & Inventory: Track and analyze the costs of raw materials (scrap, sponge iron), work-in-progress, and finished goods (e.g., TMT bars, structural steel). Monitor manufacturing overheads and energy consumption. [1]
- Financial Reporting & General Ledger: Maintain daily ledgers, reconcile accounts payable/receivable, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. [1]
- Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Manage direct and indirect tax returns, including GST, TDS/TCS, and corporate income tax. [1]
- Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Monitor budgets, forecast cash flows, and identify cost-reduction opportunities to maximize operational efficiency. [1]
- Audit Support:



Coordinate with internal and external auditors, prepare audit-ready documentation, and ensure compliance with GAAP or Ind AS. [1]

Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Finance (B.Com, BBA). Higher qualifications like CA, CMA, or MBA are highly preferred for senior roles. [1, 2]
