Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Solar EPC Installation & Commissioning Expert to lead the execution of utility-scale, residential, commercial, and industrial solar PV projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and successful project delivery while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end site execution, managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead complete EPC execution of solar PV projects from mobilization to project handover.
- Prepare execution plans, installation schedules, manpower deployment, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, logistics, and construction teams.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion.
- Identify execution risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Installation Management
- Supervise installation of:
- Solar PV modules
- Module mounting structures
- String combiner boxes
- Inverters
- LT & HT electrical systems
- Transformers
- Switchgear
- SCADA systems
- Weather monitoring systems
- Preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR)
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Ensure installations comply with approved engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Monitor workmanship quality and productivity.
Electrical Works
- Oversee DC and AC cable laying.
- Supervise cable termination and testing.
- Ensure proper synchronization with utility/grid requirements.
- Verify protection systems before energization.
Testing & Commissioning
- Lead pre-commissioning inspections.
- Conduct:
- Insulation Resistance (IR) Tests
- Continuity Tests
- Earth Resistance Tests
- String Testing
- Inverter Testing
- Transformer Testing
- Relay Testing
- Grid Synchronization
- Coordinate with DISCOM/Utility for final synchronization.
- Ensure successful Performance Ratio (PR) and generation acceptance tests.
Project Coordination
- Liaise with:
- Clients
- Consultants
- Electrical Inspectors
- Utility Authorities
- OEMs
- Subcontractors
- Attend project review meetings.
- Resolve technical and execution issues promptly.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to project Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections.
- Verify compliance with approved Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Ensure proper documentation of quality records.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce strict compliance with HSE policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Documentation
- Maintain:
- Daily Progress Reports
- Weekly Progress Reports
- Material Reconciliation
- Site Measurement Books
- Commissioning Checklists
- Punch Lists
- As-built Drawings
- Site Work Completion Reports / Acknowledgements from clients
- Site Completion and O&M; Handover Documents
Team Management
- Lead site engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Train junior engineers on installation standards and safety procedures.
- Evaluate contractor performance.
Cost & Resource Control
- Monitor project budgets and resource utilization.
- Minimize material wastage.
- Optimize manpower productivity.
- Support billing and certification activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equalent qualification
- Master's Degree is an added advantage.
- Knowledge in AutoCAD, PV sys, Sketch-up
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in Solar EPC projects.
- Proven experience in commissioning MW-scale ground-mounted solar power plants.
- Experience with rooftop solar projects is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with HT/LT systems and grid synchronization.
- Experience working with EPC contractors or renewable energy companies.

Compensation
