Role Overview

The SAP FI Consultant S/4HANA leads end-to-end financial accounting solutions across General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Asset Accounting, Banking, Taxation, and period-end closing. The role gathers and translates business requirements into configurations and functional specifications, coordinating delivery with ABAP and integration teams. It ensures seamless integration of FI with CO, MM, SD, PS, Treasury, and external banking systems for accurate postings and reporting. The consultant supports steady-state operations, closing activities, upgrades, and provides documentation, training, and stakeholder communication. The position emphasizes robust analysis, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration in S/4HANA-focused implementations.

Required Qualifications

- 8+ years hands-on SAP FI experience with at least 4+ years in S/4HANA FI
- Proven configuration expertise in GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, taxation, and period-end financial closing
- Experience in at least two end-to-end SAP implementation projects (preferably S/4HANA; ECC exposure beneficial)
- Strong FI integration knowledge with CO, MM, SD, PS, Treasury, and external banking/financial systems
- Ability to prepare detailed functional specifications for RICEFs and collaborate with ABAP and integration teams
- Hands-on with payment program (F110), dunning (F150), document splitting, parallel ledgers, foreign currency valuation, and period-end close
- Experience supporting incidents, resolving functional issues, and assisting with testing, patches,



and upgrades
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- SAP Certification in Financial Accounting (nice-to-have)

Responsibilities

- Lead and deliver end-to-end SAP FI implementation projects with focus on S/4HANA (and ECC where relevant)
- Gather, analyze, and document requirements for GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, Taxation, financial closing, and reporting
- Configure enterprise structure and FI components including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, taxes, APP, dunning, document splitting, parallel ledgers, FX valuation, and period-end closing
- Author functional specifications for enhancements, reports, interfaces, conversions, and forms; coordinate with ABAP/technical teams for RICEFs
- Integrate FI with CO, MM, SD, PS, Treasury, and external banking/financial systems ensuring accurate postings and reconciliations
- Resolve cross-functional issues in account determination, intercompany, reconciliations, interfaces, and financial reporting
- Provide L2/L3 support for FI processes; handle incidents, user queries, root-cause analysis, and timely resolution
- Support period-end/year-end close activities, testing cycles, transports, and system upgrades/patches
- Maintain comprehensive documentation: configurations, process designs, functional specs, test scripts, and integration points
- Conduct end-user and support team training; communicate status, manage risks/dependencies, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction
