The Yoga Instructor is responsible for designing and delivering engaging yoga and mindfulness sessions that promote physical fitness, emotional balance, and holistic well-being for students.
The instructor works with students across various age groups and abilities, creating a calm, inclusive, and health-focused environment aligned with the school’s ethos and international values Responsibilities:
* Plan and conduct age-appropriate yoga classes for students (and occasionally staff), focusing on flexibility, strength, posture, breathing techniques, and mindfulness.
* Adapt yoga routines based on student needs, fitness levels, and age groups (early years, primary, middle, and high school).
* Collaborate with the Physical Education and Well-being departments to integrate yoga into the school’s health and wellness curriculum.
* Ensure a safe setting by teaching proper techniques and modifying poses as needed.
* Introduce students to the philosophy and benefits of yoga in a way that is secular, inclusive, and age-appropriate.
Requirements
* Certification from a recognized yoga institute (e.g., RYT-200 or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years of experience teaching yoga, preferably in a school or educational setting.
* Experience working with children and adolescents of different age groups.
* Knowledge of child development, fitness, and safe yoga practices.
* Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
