Responsibilities:

- Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand ETL requirements and create test strategies and plans.
- Test Case Development: Design, write, and execute detailed test cases and test scripts to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Data Validation: Conduct source-to-target data validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency, and identify potential data quality issues.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression tests on ETL processes after changes or updates to ensure that current changes do not affect existing functionalities.
- Automation: Develop and implement test automation frameworks to streamline testing for ETL processes using tools such as SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Performance Testing: Assess ETL job performance and identify areas for optimization to ensure data processing meets required timeframes.
- Defect Tracking: Document, track, and report defects and issues found during testing, working closely with development teams to resolve them.
- Documentation:



Maintain comprehensive documentation for all testing phases, including requirements, test scripts, and defect tracking.

Requirements:

- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, data querying, and database testing; familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar platforms.
- Scripting Knowledge: Hands-on experience with test automation tools or scripting languages like Python, Shell scripting, or other related tools.
- Data Warehousing Knowledge: Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data integration, and ETL processes.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail to identify data inconsistencies and errors.
- Tools: Familiarity with tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or any other test management tool for tracking testing progress and defect status.
- Soft Skills: Good communication skills to liaise with development and business teams, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
