We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to strengthen our financial governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainable organizational growth.

Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic financial leadership to ensure the organization's long-term financial sustainability, transparency, and operational excellence. The role requires deep expertise in NGO financial management, grant accounting, CSR fund management, donor reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, and financial planning.

The CFO will partner closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, auditors, donors, CSR partners, government authorities, banks, and senior leadership to develop financial strategies that maximize organizational impact while maintaining the highest standards of governance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Financial Leadership

- Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and growth objectives.
- Serve as the principal financial advisor to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and forecasting.
- Drive financial sustainability through effective resource allocation and cost optimization.
- Develop financial models for expansion, new projects, and social initiatives.

2. Financial Planning & Budget Management

- Lead annual organizational budgeting and multi-project financial planning.
- Prepare departmental, program, and project-wise budgets.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
- Conduct monthly budget variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure effective utilization of organizational resources across multiple programs.

3. Grant, CSR & Donor Fund Management





- Manage financial planning and utilization of CSR funds, grants, institutional funding, and donor contributions.
- Ensure compliance with donor agreements and funding guidelines.
- Prepare financial reports required by CSR partners, funding agencies, and institutional donors.
- Coordinate with program teams for budget planning and grant implementation.
- Monitor project-wise fund utilization and reporting.

4. Accounting & Financial Reporting

- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely closure of accounts and preparation of Management Information System (MIS) reports.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Present financial dashboards and reports to the CEO and Board.
- Supervise consolidation of accounts across multiple projects and locations.

5. NGO Compliance & Financial Governance

- Ensure compliance with:
- Income Tax Act
- GST
- TDS
- Companies Act (where applicable)
- Trust Act / Society Registration Act
- FCRA regulations (if applicable)
- CSR Rules
- Labour Laws
- Grant-specific financial compliance
- Coordinate statutory, internal, donor, and government audits.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Develop and implement financial policies, SOPs, and risk management practices.

6. Treasury & Risk Management

- Manage banking relationships and treasury operations.
- Monitor cash management and investment strategies.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage for organizational assets.
- Safeguard organizational funds through robust financial controls.

7. Audit & Regulatory Management

- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
- Address audit observations and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain audit readiness throughout the financial year.

8. Leadership & Team Management

- Lead and mentor the Finance & Accounts team.




- Build a high-performance finance function through training and development.
- Establish performance standards and financial accountability.
- Promote a culture of transparency, ethics, and continuous improvement.

9. Stakeholder & Board Management

- Collaborate with donors, CSR partners, government agencies, financial institutions, and external consultants.
- Present financial reports to the Board of Trustees and senior management.
- Support fundraising initiatives through financial due diligence and proposal budgeting.
- Represent the organization during financial reviews, donor meetings, and strategic discussions.

Educational QualificationMandatory

- Chartered Accountant (CA)

Preferred

- MBA (Finance)
- CFA/ICWA (Preferred)
- Certification in NGO Financial Management or FCRA Compliance is an added advantage.

Experience Required

- 8–15 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years in NGO, Non-Profit, CSR Foundation, Development Sector, or Social Impact Organizations.
- Experience managing grants, donor funds, CSR projects, and multi-location operations.
- Experience in handling statutory audits, FCRA compliance, and regulatory reporting.
