A grinding mill maintenance incharge for a cement plant may have the following responsibilities:

- Mechanical maintenance: Plan, operate, and manage the mechanical maintenance of the plant, including the grinding mill
- Equipment performance: Ensure equipment is effective and reliable, and identify and fix any failures
- Safety: Ensure the safety of employees and the plant, and conduct near-miss analysis
- Quality: Ensure the quality of the product meets internal standards
- Cost control: Reduce costs through process improvements and modifications
- Budgeting: Plan and implement budgets for mechanical maintenance, capital, and revenue
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, such as controlling dust emissions
- Training: Provide technical training to management and other team members
- Coordination: Coordinate maintenance programs and work with outside contractors, vendors, and consultants
