Job Description: A Purchase Raw Material Manager in a steel company (e.g., Chaman Metallics) secures iron ore, coal, scrap, and ferroalloys, ensuring uninterrupted production at optimal costs. Responsibilities include vendor negotiation, supplier development, inventory management, and market trend analysis. Key requirements are 3-5 years' experience with ERP skills (SAP/Tally) and knowledge of steel plant raw materials. Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Sourcing: Identifying, evaluating, and developing reliable vendors for materials like sponge iron, iron ore, coal, and ferroalloys.
- Procurement Operations: Managing the full procurement cycle: generating POs, coordinating logistics, ensuring timely delivery, and managing documentation.
- Cost Management: Negotiating contracts, pricing, and payment terms to minimize costs.
- Inventory Control: Monitoring material consumption to maintain optimal stock levels (min/max) and preventing stockouts.
- Coordination:



Collaborating with production, quality assurance, logistics, and finance teams to meet production targets.
- Market Analysis: Monitoring raw material market trends and price fluctuations.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience: Generally 3–5 years in procurement within steel, metal, or heavy engineering industries.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of steelmaking raw materials like sponge iron, iron ore, coal, and ferroalloys.
- Skills: Robust negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Software: Proficiency in ERP software (SAP) or Tally.
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Logistics, or Business Administration
