About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST compliance, tendering processes, and account finalization. Proficiency in Tally and/or SAP is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records and financial transactions.
- Prepare, review, and file GST returns within statutory timelines.
- Ensure compliance with GST regulations and resolve GST-related queries.
- Handle tender documentation, submissions, and related financial requirements.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Finalize accounts and prepare financial statements.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and assessments.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Generate MIS reports and provide financial data to management as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting and finance.
- Strong knowledge of GST filing, returns, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in tendering and account finalization.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP/Tally Prime and/or SAP.
- Positive understanding of accounting standards and taxation.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience handling end-to-end accounting functions independently.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of TDS, statutory compliances, and audit procedures will be an added advantage.
