Job Description: A DRI Mechanical Shift Incharge is responsible for overseeing the mechanical aspects of a direct reduced iron plant during their shift, focusing on safe and efficient production by supervising the mechanical team, ensuring equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting machinery. Key duties include managing shift personnel, preventing downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating with other departments, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities

- Supervision and Management:
- Lead and guide the mechanical maintenance team for the shift.
- Manage manpower allocation and delegate tasks to meet production targets.

- Maintenance and Operations:

- Ensure continuous production by minimizing downtime through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Oversee the maintenance of critical equipment like kilns, rotary equipment, conveyors, crushers, and material handling systems.
- Plan and implement maintenance during shutdowns to ensure equipment reliability.

- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:





- Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical issues as they arise during the shift.
- Utilize PLC systems to monitor and manage operations.

- Safety and Compliance:

- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and statutory norms.
- Maintain a clean and safe working workplace.

- Reporting and Coordination:

- Maintain detailed shift-based logs, including breakdown records.
- Report shift performance and issues to the next in-charge or senior management.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., production, electrical) to ensure seamless operation.

- Continuous Improvement:

- Identify and implement modifications to equipment and processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Help in preparing purchase requisitions and quotations for necessary components.
