Job Summary

The Store Officer is responsible for managing all store and inventory operations at the project site, ensuring timely receipt, storage, issuance, and accounting of construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables. The role ensures accurate inventory records, proper material handling, compliance with company procedures, and uninterrupted availability of materials for project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming construction materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, and preservation of materials to prevent damage, deterioration, or theft.
- Issue materials to site teams based on approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS).
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to support uninterrupted construction activities.
- Monitor stock movement and identify slow-moving, non-moving, and surplus inventory.
- Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), gate passes, stock registers, and inventory reports.
- Update inventory transactions in ERP/software or manual registers.
- Perform daily reconciliation of material receipts, issues, and balances.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and project records.
- Stock Verification
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile with system records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and report variances to management.
- Assist in monthly and annual inventory audits.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement, Site Engineers, Vendors, and Accounts for material receipt and issue.
- Follow up on pending deliveries and resolve discrepancies in received materials.
- Support project teams by ensuring timely availability of required materials.
- Material Handling
- Ensure secure unloading, stacking, storage, and preservation of materials.




- Maintain proper identification and labeling of materials.
- Monitor shelf life and storage conditions of consumables, chemicals, paints, adhesives, and other sensitive materials.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory control procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the store.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of hazardous materials and equipment.

Required Skills:

- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Inventory control and warehouse management.
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar inventory software).
- Microsoft Excel and MS Office proficiency.
- Material documentation (GRN, MRS, Issue Slips, Stock Registers).
