Job Title: Plant Head – Interior & Furniture Manufacturing

Department: Production

Location: Bhiwandi, (Thane) Maharashtra

Reporting To: Director

Salary - 120K-160K /- Pm

Job Summary

The Plant Head will be responsible for leading the overall manufacturing operations of the interior fit-out and furniture manufacturing plant. The role includes production planning, quality control, factory operations, manpower management, safety compliance, inventory control, and on-time project delivery while ensuring optimum productivity and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

- Lead end-to-end factory operations for interior fit-out and furniture manufacturing.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely execution.
- Improve plant productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure optimum utilization of machinery, manpower, and materials.

Manufacturing Management

- Oversee production of:
- Modular Furniture
- Retail Fixtures
- Display Units
- Stainless Steel Fabrication
- Wooden Furniture
- Acrylic Products
- Custom Interior Components
- Monitor CNC, Laser Cutting, Bending, Welding, Powder Coating, Painting, Carpentry, Assembly, and Dispatch operations.

Quality Management

- Ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Implement quality control systems across all manufacturing stages.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and wastage.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues.

Production Planning & Inventory

- Coordinate with Design, Projects, Procurement, and Stores teams.
- Ensure material availability as per production schedule.




- Monitor inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
- Optimize raw material consumption.

Team Leadership

- Lead Production Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, QC, Stores, and Dispatch teams.
- Conduct daily production review meetings.
- Build high-performance teams through coaching and training.
- Drive employee engagement and discipline.

Process Improvement

- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Develop and improve SOPs for production processes.
- Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Identify opportunities for automation and cost reduction.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Maintain housekeeping and factory discipline.
- Promote a zero-accident culture.

Cost Control

- Monitor manufacturing costs and optimize operational expenses.
- Reduce production losses and machine downtime.
- Improve productivity through effective resource planning.

Coordination

- Work closely with:
- Design Team
- Project Execution Team
- Procurement
- Stores
- Quality Assurance
- Finance
- HR
- Ensure seamless coordination between departments for timely project completion.

Required Skills

- Solid leadership and decision-making skills.
- Expertise in furniture and interior manufacturing processes.
- Production planning and scheduling.
- Lean Manufacturing,



Kaizen, and 5S implementation.
- Knowledge of CNC, Laser Cutting, Fabrication, Powder Coating, Carpentry, Assembly, and Finishing.
- Strong understanding of quality systems and process improvement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Cost control and budget management.
- ERP/MRP software knowledge.
- Excellent communication and team management skills.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA in Operations is an added advantage.

Experience

- 12–18 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, retail interiors, modular furniture, or interior fit-out manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years in a Plant Head, Factory Head, or Senior Production leadership role.
