Job Purpose

The Senior Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling end-to-end production activities across the garment manufacturing process, ensuring the achievement of production targets, quality standards, delivery commitments, and cost objectives. The role provides strategic leadership to production teams, drives operational excellence, and ensures compliance with customer requirements, statutory regulations, and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities Production Management

- Lead and oversee daily production activities across Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, Packing, and Dispatch.
- Develop and execute production plans to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
- Monitor production efficiency, line performance, and capacity utilization to maximize productivity.
- Ensure smooth production flow by coordinating with Planning, Merchandising, Industrial Engineering (IE), Quality, Maintenance, and Stores.
- Review production status, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to meet shipment schedules.

Operational Excellence

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and process optimization.
- Monitor key production KPIs including efficiency, productivity, WIP, absenteeism, and line balancing.
- Optimize manpower allocation and machine utilization to improve operational performance.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best manufacturing practices.

Quality & Delivery

- Ensure production meets buyer quality standards and approved specifications.
- Work closely with Quality teams to reduce defects, rework, and customer complaints.
- Support on-time order execution and shipment readiness by coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Team Leadership

- Lead, coach, and develop Production Managers, Assistant Production Managers, Line Supervisors, and Team Leaders.
- Conduct regular production review meetings and monitor departmental performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Safety & Compliance





- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure adherence to company safety policies.
- Support compliance with buyer requirements and management systems, including ISO standards and social compliance audits.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

- Prepare and present production reports, efficiency analysis, and operational performance dashboards.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement action plans to achieve operational objectives.
- Participate in management reviews and strategic production planning.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional qualifications in Operations Management or Lean Manufacturing are preferred.

Experience

- 12–15 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in a Production Manager or Senior Production Manager role.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale export garment manufacturing operations within a cut-to-pack environment.

Working Conditions

The role requires extensive shop-floor presence, close coordination with cross-functional departments, and the ability to manage multiple production priorities in a fast-paced export garment manufacturing workplace.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
