Safety Officer

- Develop and implement Health, Safety & Workplace (HSE) training programs based on business requirements, including induction training, refresher training, statutory training, and specialized safety training.

- Prepare and execute HSE inspection plans, audit schedules, and periodic performance reviews to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

- Conduct Internal Safety Audits, Hazard Identification (HAZID), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments (RA), and Near Miss Reporting to prevent accidents and occupational hazards.

- Advise concerned departments on planning and implementing effective measures for the prevention of personal injuries, occupational illnesses, and process safety incidents.

- Develop, implement, review, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, standards, and safe work practices to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.

- Plan and conduct Toolbox Talks, Safety Meetings, and safety awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.

- Identify opportunities for improvement in plant equipment, machinery, work processes, and operating practices to enhance Safety, Health, and Environmental performance.

- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions taken to eliminate unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.

- Carry out regular plant safety inspections to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and non-compliances, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

- Provide technical guidance on reporting, recording, and investigation of industrial accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses, and occupational diseases.

- Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and high-potential near misses using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and recommend effective corrective and preventive actions.

- Maintain statutory records and documentation relating to accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational diseases, inspections, audits, training, and legal compliance.





- Organize Safety Committee meetings, prepare meeting minutes, monitor compliance with action points, and implement committee recommendations.

- Develop, implement, and maintain Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans (EPRP), including emergency evacuation procedures and mock drills.

- Coordinate and support fire drills, emergency response exercises, rescue operations, and disaster management activities.

- Prepare and analyze accident statistics, incident trends, safety KPIs, and monthly HSE performance reports for management review.

- Prepare, review, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safe Operating Procedures, and Safe Work Instructions (SWIs).

- Implement and monitor the Permit to Work (PTW) system for hazardous activities, including Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, Electrical Isolation (LOTO), Excavation, and Line Breaking.

- Ensure compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

- Conduct contractor safety induction, monitor contractor compliance, and ensure adherence to HSE requirements during project execution.

- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements under the Factories Act, State Factory Rules, Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code, Environmental regulations, and other applicable HSE legislation.

- Coordinate internal and external HSE audits and support compliance with management systems such as ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), wherever applicable.

- Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and other external agencies during inspections, audits, and statutory compliance activities.

- Promote continuous improvement through safety campaigns, behavioural safety initiatives, employee participation programs, and HSE awareness activities.

- Perform any other HSE-related responsibilities assigned by the Management from time to time.Role & responsibilities
