Role & responsibilities
- Examine patients and obtain detailed medical histories.
- Diagnose illnesses and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient progress.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Provide emergency medical care when required.
- Perform minor medical procedures within the scope of practice.
- Counsel patients on disease prevention, nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Refer patients to specialists when advanced care is required.
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control measures, and medical ethics.
- Participate in health awareness programs and continuous medical education.
