Job description

Highly experienced thermal and mechanical design engineer specializing in High Pressure and Low Pressure Feedwater Heaters used in supercritical and ultra-supercritical cycle power plants (660 MW and 800 Mw). Proficient in ASME Section VIII, HEI, TEMA, and IBR standards with expertise in thermal sizing, mechanical design and layout optimization. Proven track record working with major EPCs like NTPC, BHEL, GE, Doosan, L&T; and global OEMs.

Core Competencies:

- Thermal design of HP/LP Feedwater Heaters and condensers
- Experience with supercritical & ultra-supercritical cycle requirements
- Familiarity with HEI, ASME, TEMA, IBR codes
- Tube material selection
- Anti-vibration and safety design (support plates, baffles, expansion joints)
- Conductance of PG test using ASME PTC 12

The Lead Thermal Engineering and Proposals shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

- Through knowledge of performing Thermal and mechanical Design of LP & HP Feed water heaters, Condensers.
- Performing Thermal calculation for HBD data
- Preparation of BOQ based on thermal calculations
- Planned design & engineering activities of projects from Proposal stage to end, focusing on timelines, align with client specifications, budgets and feasibility
- Preparation of complete Techno- commercial proposals
- Thorough study of tender/enquiry documents, identification of missing details & resolving pre-bid Technical queries.
- Consultation with customers on technical issues to achieve optimal solutions
- Collaborated closely with inter-departments to support end-to-end processes.
- Generated schedules, drawings,



bills of material and manuals for engineered equipment using statistical design to deliver quality performance
- Performed & reviewed designs and counselled client on courses of action to remedy issues while staying under budget and sticking to timelines
- Knowledge of design finalization for bough-outs like Expansion bellows (Metallic), Cathodic protection sacrificial anodes, Valves, Level gauges
- Communicate on technical and commercial issues with customer during bidding and execution

Project Accounting

- Capable of carrying out sub-vendor bid evaluation
- Time management

Financial Management

- Valuable hands on experience in cost Estimation of Feed water heaters, condensers and Deaerators
- Understand pricing model and billing procedures.

Communication

- Good Communication skills, Capable of preparing Technical/Commercial offers for bids on Power plant projects
- Hold regular inter department status review meetings effectively
- Keep all departments informed of changes in scope and general developments at customers ends.
- Submission of all Thermal and Mechanical calculations, drawings and other documents to customer for approval. Expedite with customer for early approvals

Organizational responsibilities

- Build rapport with customers and carry out Companys image building to look for opportunities above and beyond the current customers/ orders
- Ensure customer satisfaction: Strive to meet or exceed customer expectations by delivering high-quality designs, addressing client feedback, and ensuring that the proposed solutions align with the client's goals and objectives
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Comply with Companys standard policies and procedures.

Qualification

- Diploma/BE – Mechanical, Chemical or Production
- Experience – Minimum 8 year+ in Engineering and Proposals
