- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, commission, and set up machines and equipment in the manufacturing laboratory, in coordination with vendors and faculty.
- Operate, set up, and demonstrate conventional machines including lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, and shaping machines for student practical sessions.
- Perform routine, preventive, and minor breakdown maintenance (lubrication, alignment, tool changes, belt replacements, adjustments) on all workshop machines as per manufacturer schedules.
- Ensure strict adherence to machine safety protocols, PPE usage, machine guarding, and lockout and tagout (LOTO) procedures at all times.
- Maintain machine log books, breakdown reports, and maintenance history registers.
- Maintain tool inventory and consumable stock registers, and raise indent requests in a timely manner.
- Assist in training students on protected machine operation and workshop discipline.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent Engineering from a recognized State Board of Technical Education or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in a mechanical workshop, manufacturing unit, or educational laboratory.
- Knowledge of basic metrology and use of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and part prints.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience in machine installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.
- Exposure to CNC lathe and CNC milling operations and G-code and M-code basics.
- Knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, arc welding) and casting or forging basics.
- Experience in a university or polytechnic workshop environment.
- ITI (Turner, Machinist, or Fitter) trade certificate in addition to Diploma.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining digital records and job cards.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
