Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the credit underwriting function for the assigned area across multiple branches.
- Evaluate and approve credit proposals within delegated authority as per the company's credit policy.
- Ensure quality assessment of loan applications through detailed financial, business, and risk analysis.
- Conduct customer visits and field investigations for high-value and critical loan cases.
- Monitor portfolio quality, delinquency trends, and early warning signals to minimize credit losses.
- Ensure adherence to credit underwriting standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal risk management policies.
- Provide guidance and support to Branch Credit Managers and Credit Officers for effective credit decision-making.
- Review PDD (Post Disbursement Documents) compliance and ensure timely closure of pending cases.
- Coordinate with Business, Operations, Collections, and Risk teams to achieve business objectives while maintaining portfolio quality.
- Analyze market trends, industry developments,



and competitive practices to strengthen credit evaluation processes.
- Monitor audit observations and ensure timely closure of credit-related compliance gaps.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance credit efficiency and turnaround time.
- Prepare and present periodic portfolio reviews, risk reports, and credit MIS to senior management.

Preferred candidate profile

- Proven experience in credit underwriting of Retail Asset products, preferably in NBFCs or private sector banks.
- Understanding of local business and micro economy
- Keen understanding and focus on risk, controls, compliance and regulatory framework
- Solid analytical & communication skills (written & verbal)
- Preferably CA/ ICWA/ MBA Finance / PG - Commerce)
- Ability to build, coach and mentor high performance oriented teams. Should have good knowledge of Risk Related to Business.
- Good client servicing skills. Good financial analytical skills, communication skills.
