Qualifications

- B.Sc. Nursing (Essential)
- M.Sc. Nursing (Preferred)
- Valid State Nursing Council Registration
- BLS & PALS Certification (Preferred)
- NRP Certification preferred for NICU

Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of ICU/NICU/PICU nursing experience
- 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Job Summary

The NICU/PICU Ward Incharge is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating nursing activities within the NICU/PICU. The role ensures high-quality, secure, family-centered care for critically ill neonates and pediatric patients while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, infection control practices, and NABH standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise nursing care for critically ill neonates and pediatric patients.
- Manage duty rosters and nursing staff allocation.




- Monitor ventilators, CPAP, HFNC, infusion pumps, and invasive monitoring.
- Ensure medication safety and patient identification.
- Maintain infection prevention and biomedical waste management practices.
- Oversee documentation, census, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Coordinate with pediatricians, intensivists, respiratory therapists, laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology departments.
- Educate and counsel patient families.
- Conduct staff training, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards and quality improvement initiatives.
