Core Clinical Responsibilities
- Preventive Care: Cleaning teeth by removing plaque and tartar, polishing, and applying preventive materials like fluorides or sealants.
- Periodontal Therapy: Performing scaling and root planing to treat gum disease, including cleaning beneath the gum margins.
- Diagnostics: Taking, developing, and interpreting dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Screenings: Conducting head, neck, and oral cancer screenings, examining gums for disease, and documenting findings (charting) for the dentist.
- Anesthesia: Administering local anesthesia or nitrous oxide (depending on state regulations)
Patient Education and Care
- Instruction: Training patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques.
- Counseling: Providing nutritional counseling for better oral health.
- Patient Management: Reviewing health histories, taking vital signs (blood pressure, pulse), and easing patient anxiety.
Administrative and Maintenance Tasks
- Sterilization: Maintaining, sharpening, and sterilizing dental instruments.
- Room Setup: Preparing the treatment room, including arranging instruments and sterilizing surfaces to ensure safety protocols.
- Documentation: Updating patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: A degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
- License: Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with required state exams and certifications (e.g., in X-ray and local anesthesia).
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
