- Location: Mumbai- Maharashtra

- Employment Type: Full-time
- POSITION SUMMARY
- The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of the NGO. The CEO ensures that the organization fulfills its mission, complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements, maintains financial sustainability, and builds solid partnerships with donors, government agencies, corporates, communities, and other stakeholders.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization's strategic plan.
- Lead the organization towards achieving its vision and mission.
- Identify opportunities for organizational growth and innovation.
- Recommend new programs & excel in the current ongoing program based on community needs.
- 2. Governance & Board Management
- Work closely with the Board of Directors.
- Ensure implementation of Board decisions.
- Maintain high standards of governance and ethics.
- Ensure transparency and accountability.
- 3. Programme Management
- Oversee implementation of all projects.
- Monitor project outcomes and impact.
- Ensure timely delivery of donor commitments.
- Introduce monitoring and evaluation systems.
- 4. Financial Management
- Develop annual budgets.
- Ensure financial sustainability.
- Monitor expenditure and cash flow.
- Ensure statutory audits are completed on time.
- 5. Fundraising & Resource Mobilization
- Develop fundraising strategies.
- Build relationships with donors and philanthropic foundations.
- Engage with CSR partners under the Companies Act, 2013.
- Identify domestic and international funding opportunities.
- Lead proposal development and donor presentations.
- 6. Government & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including:
- NGO as per section 8 companies.
- Income Tax provisions applicable to charitable organizations.
- CSR partnership requirements under the Companies Act, 2013.
- Labour laws, POSH Act, 2013,
Child protection requirements.
- State-specific compliances.
- 7. Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent the NGO at conferences and public forums.
- Build relationships with government departments.
- Engage with corporate CSR teams.
- Develop partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations.
- Strengthen media and public relations.
- 9. Risk Management
- Identify organizational risks.
- Develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure safeguarding and data privacy measures.
- Maintain crisis management and business continuity plans.
- 10. Communication & Advocacy
- Serve as the spokesperson for the organization.
- Promote the NGO's work through public engagement.
- Advocate for policy and social impact initiatives aligned with the organization's mission.
- Strengthen the organization's visibility and credibility.

- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Management, Business Administration.
- Additional qualifications in Finance, Law, or NGO Management are desirable.
- EXPERIENCE:
- 15-20 years of progressive leadership experience in the development or social sector.
- At least 810 years in a senior leadership role.
- PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
- NGO governance frameworks
- CSR regulations and partnerships
- Grant management and donor compliance
- Monitoring and evaluation systems
- Safeguarding and child protection policies (where relevant)
- Digital transformation and data-driven management
- COMPENSATION
- Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, leadership capability, and the scale of the organization's operations, and may include performance-linked incentives and other benefits in accordance with organizational policies.
