Role & responsibilities

1. Manage and supervise all hospital billing operations, including IP, OP, emergency, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and other service billing.
2. Ensure accurate and timely generation of patient bills in accordance with hospital tariffs, insurance policies, and government regulations.
3. Oversee insurance, TPA, corporate, CGHS, ECHS, and other government scheme billing processes.
4. Monitor revenue cycle management to ensure timely billing, collections, and reconciliation.
5. Identify and eliminate revenue leakage through regular billing audits and process improvements.
6. Coordinate with clinical departments, finance, insurance, and patient services to resolve billing discrepancies.
7. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, payer guidelines, hospital policies, and billing SOPs.
8. Monitor pending bills, discharged-not-billed cases, outstanding collections, and claim status.
9. Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to billing performance, collections, and revenue.
10. Develop,



implement, and monitor billing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
11. Train, mentor, and evaluate billing staff to improve productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
12. Handle escalated patient billing concerns and ensure prompt resolution of complaints.
13. Coordinate with the finance team for revenue reconciliation, audits, and month-end closing activities.
14. Ensure effective utilization and maintenance of the Hospital Information System (HIS) and billing software.
15. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance billing efficiency and patient satisfaction.
