Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic English Faculty member to teach at the MYP (Middle Years Programme) and DP (Diploma Programme) levels. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the IB curriculum, a passion for English literature and language, and a commitment to fostering critical thinking, creativity, and global perspectives in students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Curriculum Development and Delivery:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons aligned with the IB MYP and DP English Language and Literature curriculum.
- Develop and implement creative instructional strategies that promote inquiry-based learning and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and promote a holistic understanding of English language and literature.

Student Support and Engagement:

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and independent thinking.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students,



helping them to achieve their full potential in both written and oral communication.
- Mentor students in their Extended Essays (for DP) and Personal Projects (for MYP), guiding them through the research and writing process.
- Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities such as debates, literary clubs, and writing competitions.

Professional Development and Collaboration:

- Participate in regular professional development opportunities to stay current with IB methodologies and best practices in English education.
- Contribute to the school’s culture of continuous improvement by engaging in reflective practices and collaborative planning with colleagues.
- Attend and contribute to faculty meetings, curriculum planning sessions, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Engage with the school community, including parents and other stakeholders, to promote the school’s mission and vision.

Qualifications:

- Education:

- Ph.D. English, MA in English (Literature), or a related field.
- IB MYP and/or DP training and certification is highly desirable.

Experience:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in an IB World School, specifically in MYP and/or DP English.
- Proven track record of successfully teaching English language and literature to diverse student populations.
